MESSI FIT TO PLAY AGAINST REAL MADRID

MESSI FIT TO PLAY AGAINST  REAL MADRID

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique will make a late decision on whether to risk Lionel Messi in the top-of-the-table clash against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on 21 November. Messi, 28, has not played since injuring his left knee in the win against Las Palmas in September.

Spanish daily AS said the Argentine forward will be handed a fitness test on 20 November and start on the bench against Real if he comes through it. Messi took part in a full-training session on 18 November alongside Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba, Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and Marc Bartra, who all returned from international duty with Spain.

AS said the Argentina captain is likely to be named as a substitute and enter the fray in the second half, similar to when he came off the bench to score the winner at Atletico Madrid in September.

'Game changer'

Fellow Barca forward Luis Suarez said Messi looked sharp in training, but that it was touch-and-go whether he would take part in the first El Clasico of the season. "Messi can change the game and he's done incredible things in previous Clasicos. But it depends on the doctors and what they think is best for him," Suarez told Barcelona's official website.

"He has looked good while training with us over the last few days but it's an injury that could take a sudden turn for the worse."

He continued: "Messi makes all the difference, but we'll have to wait and see whether he starts or perhaps comes on later.

"At the [Vicente] Calderon he showed that he can come on for just twenty minutes and get you three points."

Meanwhile, AS said Ivan Rakitic remained doubtful to feature against Real due to a calf problem. The Croatian playmaker has not played since suffering a muscle tear against BATE Borisov in the Champions League on 4 November.

Luis Enrique's side can go six points clear at the top of the La Liga table if they beat second-placed Real on 21 November.

Here is a list of the 7 best places in Kolkata which serve you with the best Biryani:

Here is a list of the 7 best places in Kolkata
which serve you with the best Biryani

7. Arsalan

With outlets at various locations in Kolkata, Arsalan is one of the best restaurants in Kolkata, which serves authentic Mughlai food and especially Biryani. The Park Circus branch situated right in front of the Park Circus crossing has the best servings in terms of taste. It is not much expensive. Inside the restaurant it is difficult to find a person who does not have a plate of Biryani apart from other dishes. There is no competition faced by this eatery despite so any other places and it continues to attract people everyday. A tip would be to order a plate of Arsalan Special Biryani. Nothing on earth tastes better.

6. Haji Saheb

It is located in Diamond Harbour Road and is the best Biryani centre in the south-western part of Kolkata. Along with exclusively mughlai dishes, it also has Chinese and North Indian. But the people who visit Haji Saheb are the ones who strictly go for the Biryani. Prices are cheaper too. One secret is that one plate Biryani when packed and taken home is of a greater quantity than which is served inside the restaurant. The ones who know about it bring it home and take pleasure in it.

5. Nizam’s

Apart from being famous for Kati-rolls, Nizam’s serves up the best Biryani plates available in Kolkata. Situated in the New Market area, you will mostly never find a seat empty because of the huge footfall. You will probably have to wait for a maximum of 5 minutes, but the wait is worth it. Biryani, together with ‘kebabs’ or ‘chaap’ is heavenly there. The plate served has such a huge quantity that it can easily make way to two stomachs. But again, it’s too tasty to share.

4. Amenia

Again located in the New Market area, very close to Nizam’s, the aroma of this Biryani restaurant will drag you inside. The pocket pinch being too easy, Amenia can be visited quite frequently. The mutton-Biryani and mutton-chaap combination in Amenia is something which you will never forget once you have had a spoonful of it. Mutton Biryani being a hot favourite among visitors is the tastiest dish here. You can also have it with kebabs which are very tasty too.

3. Zeeshan

One of the spiciest biriyani’s are served at Zeeshan. If you are in the mood to have something heavy and spicy, which stays on with you for a considerable period of time, this is the place where you should be. You should, along with having the Biryani platter, try the reshmi kebabs too. The chaap here also tastes brilliant, be it chicken or mutton. It is very spicy and too tasty too forget. Prices are mediocre which will leave you with enough to splurge on. One suggestion would be to order the special Biryani. You have not tasted anything like that before.

2. Shiraz Golden Restaurant

With as many as six outlets in Kolkata this is one of the oldest restaurants here. The main branch which is located in Park Street is the one where you should first go. Be it an old man or a youngster, there is nobody in Kolkata who has not been there. Even a man in his 70s or 80s will tell you how a particular Biryani tastes there. You can choose from a host of menu and not worry about any. They will be tasty undoubtedly.

1. Daawat E Shiraz

This is a relatively new restaurant and is placed right opposite Shiraz Golden Restaurant in Park Street. This is the most expensive in terms of prices in the list. They will provide you with a range of lip-smacking Biryani dishes and you will be spoilt for choice. Whoever visits this place comes out with only good things to say. Like the others, order a plate of mutton Biryani and then whatever you want. Do not miss out on any if you are in Kolkata............

Lionel Messi back to training field, on track for El Clásico return

Lionel Messi back to training field, on track for El Clásico return

Lionel Messi appears to be set for a return to the field in the biggest game of the early part of the season, El Clásico against Real Madrid in two weeks.
According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, the Blaugrana superstar has made his return to the training field for a very light work, like running and specific exercises with the ball, which is already good news. The schedule for his recovery has gone exactly according to plan, and the Barça playmaker has a big chance of making it in time for the Bernabéu clash.
It's expected that Messi will continue with this type of training for the entire week, increasing the intensity level according to his evolution. By the time the internationals come back next week, Leo is expected to be fully recovered and ready to practice normally with his teammates on Thursday and Friday. Depending on how well he does then, coach Luis Enrique will make the decision to whether or not include him in the squad list for the most important encounter of the end of 2015.
Messi suffered a torn ligament in his left knee, and has been sidelined for the last six weeks. In that period, Barcelona has amassed eight wins and only one loss in ten matches, with 'MSN' partners Luis Suárez and Neymar stepping up to cope with Leo's absence.

Tevez a doubt for Argentina World Cup qualifier vs. Brazil

Tevez a doubt for Argentina World Cup
qualifier vs. Brazil

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) -- Argentina forward Carlos Tevez is a doubt for Thursday's key World Cup qualifier against Brazil in Buenos Aires with an injured left knee.
The possible absence of Tevez, confirmed Monday by the Argentine Football Association, adds to concerns for Argentina coach Gerardo Martino, who will also be without Barcelona star Lionel Messi and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.
Messi also has a left knee injury, while Aguero a torn hamstring in his left leg.
Few teams have Argentina's depth in attack with Gonzalo Higuain, Angel di Maria, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Angel Correa and Nicolas Gaitan still available.
Argentina, the runner-up to Germany last year's World Cup, has only one point from its first two World Cup qualifiers. Brazil has three from its first two matches.

Real Madrid Fan Produces Shirt with 'Messi 10' on Back During Sevilla Defeat

There's wishful thinking, and then there's this.
One Real Madrid fan appears to have lost the plot after producing a replica Blancos shirt with Lionel Messi's name and number on the back during the team's 3-2 defeat at Sevilla.
While Real Madrid have broken the bank for players on a number of occasions in the past, even signing Luis Figo from Barcelona back in 2000, it's impossible to imagine Messi making the same move.
Nice try, but you can forget it.

Why was Kolkata given the nickname "City of Joy"?

The story revolves around the trials and tribulations of a young Polish priest Fr Stephan Kovalski the hardships endured by a rickshaw puller, Hasari Pal (the sufferer) in Calcutta (Kolkata), India and in the second half of the book, also the experiences of a young American doctor, Max Loeb.

Father Stephan joins a religious order whose vows put them in the most hellish places on earth. He chooses not only to serve the poorest of the poor in Calcutta but also to live with them, starve with them, and if God wills it, die with them. In the journey of Kovalski's acceptance as the Big Brother for the slum dwellers, he encounters moments of everyday miracles in the midst of appalling poverty and ignorance. The slum dwellers are ignored and exploited by wider society and the authorities of power but are not without their own prejudices. This becomes evident by their attitude towards the lepers and the continuation of the caste system.

The story also explores how a peasant farmer Hasari Pal arrives in Calcutta with his family after a drought wipes out the farming village where his family has lived for generations.

The third main character is that of a rich American doctor who has just finished med school and wants to do something with purpose before opening up his practice catering to the wealthy.

The book chronicles not only the separation of the wealthy from the poor but the separation of the different levels of poverty, caste divisions, and the differences of the many religions living side by side in the slums. It touches on Mother Teresa and her Sisters of Mercy as well. While the book has its ups and downs, both beautiful and horrific, an overall feeling of peace and well being is achieved by the story's end. Despite facing hunger, deplorable living conditions, illness, bone breaking work (or no work at all) and death, the people still hold on to the belief that life is precious and worth living, so much so that they named their slum "Anand Nagar", which translated into English means "City of Joy".

The author has stated that the stories of the characters in the book are true and he uses many of the real names in his book. However, the book is considered fictional since many conversations and actions are assumed or created.

The author and his wife traveled to India many times, sometimes staying with friends in the "City of Joy". Half of the royalties from the sale of the book goes towards the City of Joy Foundation[1] that looks after slum children in Calcutta.
